If you haven’t been diagnosed with a mental illness, you have no right to claim you have a mental illness.
Almost everyone on tumblr seems to have “anxiety” and depression and anorexia. Look, you’re a teenager. You are probably insecure about your looks, your sexuality, friends, boys, girls, school, etc. You are probably stressed and you probably have mood swings and you are most definitely looking for an identity, as are most teenagers. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE MENTALLY ILL.
All teenagers, hell, all people, feel lonely sometimes, have outbursts of rage, cry a lot, hate everyone, hate themselves, feel unwanted and unspecial, think about dying and death, worry about their body and weight, and have some obsessive thoughts. All people experience these things sometime in their lives.
Depression is not feeling blue most of the time. Insomnia isn’t going to sleep at 2am every night. OCD isn’t avoiding the lines on the streets - most people have those kinds of thoughts. Anxiety isn’t being nervous around people, and anorexia isn’t just thinking you’re fat.
If you truly had a mental illness, I believe you wouldn’t write it on your “about me” section unless it’s actually relevant to your blog (i.e. if you’re running a recovery blog). Mental illnesses are not something to be proud of.
I’m not here to criticize people who claim to have mental illnesses. I think it’s sad that so many teens feel that the only way for them to have an identity is to have a mental illness.
I HATEJennifer Lawrence. There I said it. Yup I hate her. Frankly I think in regards to acting skills she is similar to Kristin Stewart. I get no emotion out of any of the characters they play. I have no empathy towards any of her characters. Frankly her characters could die and I would not care. And she is not as attractive as everyone makes her out to be. I really don’t see it. She is so plain looking. And I know this is going to sound strange but her smile bothers me. It looks so awkward. It’s almost like she does not want to be famous. And no I won’t state actresses I find attractive because I don’t have to. And also I have a feeling that at least one person out there will say “If you think she’s such a bad actress then why don’t you do it?” I would if I could darling, but I’m trying to get an education for a secure job as a Pharmacist before I try to get a job in such a risky market as acting.
